first ship of the Great Western Steamship Company, built in 1838, and the first ship specially built for the transatlantic flights. Ship design Izambarda Kingdoma Brunel became a model for all future trans-Atlantic rowing wooden ships. Â«Great WesternÂ» worked at the New York area for eight years, as long as its owners have not gone out of business. It was sold to Royal Mail Steam Packet Company and was sent for scrapping in 1856 after serving as a military ship during the Crimean War.
