The CH-149 Cormorant is the Canadian Forces designation for the AgustaWestland AW101 (formerly EH101), a helicopter used for air/marine search and rescue in Canada. The AW101 medium-lift helicopter is used for military applications but also marketed for civil use
The Cormorants replaced the aging CH-124 Sea King helicopters. The first two Cormorant aircraft arrived in Canada in September 2001 and entered service the following year.
